OUR MISSION
Our society has spent too long trying to ignore and control our emotions, and it's harming us in more ways than one. We are burnt out, apathetic, addicted, and irritable.
But our emotions are a part of our nature! We must learn how to work with them, rather than against.
Utilizing new research and creative practices, we want to show your school how a community can improve by cultivating an environment rich with emotional intelligence. Rather than a reactive approach, Dear Wild hopes to provide preventative practices your school and staff can implement immediately.
Will you be brave enough to greet the wild within?
WHO WE ARE

Amber Dlugosh
Founder & Lead Presenter
After almost a decade of teaching in a rural public high school, Amber, 2019 Teacher of the Year, grew tired of combatting the same repeating problems with the same tools. Teachers are up against apathy, discipline referrals, bullying, perfectionism, combative parents, and more, but are rarely given effective strategies on how to truly make collective community change. She considered this the definition of insanity.
Believing that emotional intelligence was the key to finding a more impactful solution, Amber developed an elective course for her students called Foundations of Well-Being. Repeatedly, she heard students say, "Why have we never learned this?" which inspired her to take her knowledge and skillset to a larger audience.

Known for her creative teaching strategies, effective communication skills, and engaging persona, Amber is sure to leave a lasting impression on you and your organization.

This session will explore basic brain science behind emotions, focusing on the impact of stress and trauma.

The Shame Game
Discovering Your Active Role as a Mirror Holder
This talk discusses the corrosive power of shame in our lives and the power we hold to either build others up or tear them down. The presenter will use personal story-telling and audience participation to showcase how we are interdependent and have the honor of reminding people of their inherent worth.
